2019 marks an important milestone for the SMS Equipment Wine Auction in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters Wood Buffalo as they celebrate the 10th anniversary of raising funds for local children and youth in our community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wood Buffalo will host our highly anticipated 10th Annual SMS Equipment Wine Auction “Once Upon a Vine” in support of the safe and caring mentorship we provide to children and youth in our region in need of a positive role model.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Wood Buffalo’s largest event for the past nine years has been the SMS Equipment Wine Auction. In 2018, the net total raise was just over $110,000!

Every year the funds from the Wine Auction help to support the programs we offer to the community of Wood Buffalo. The money raised from the 2017 Wine Auction allowed BBBSWB to branch out with two new group programs Game on and Go Girls! helping to support the many children on our waitlist.

The 10th Anniversary celebration, “Once Upon a Vine” will transport guests to an ethereal, boreal forest inspired, one-of-a-kind, magical evening!

This amazing night isn’t just for wine connoisseurs – we’ve added craft beers, champagne, and whisky to our main bars, ensuring something for everyone! Or if you love having a glass of wine but don’t consider yourself a wine aficionado, the Wine Auction is the perfect place to try something new – maybe you will find a new favorite to add to your personal collection from the Silent Auction or the Tasting Room!

Last year’s Wine Pull sold out within 2 hours of doors opening! Get your Wine Pull ticket(s) early in the night and join other guests vying to guess which bottle is the most unique or expensive bottle of wine disguised in the Wine Pull racks. The best part is every player is a winner in this exciting event activity – everyone who plays takes home a bottle valued the same or more than the ticket price!
