Big Brothers Big Sisters Wood Buffalo

About Us

“We believe that by changing the course of young lives we can in turn be changing the course of a community’s future.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wood Buffalo is a not-for-profit, community-based organization that provides safe and caring mentorship to children and youth in need of a positive role model. Operating within the community of Wood Buffalo since 1979, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wood Buffalo originally started out by matching Big Sisters with Little Sisters, but as the community grew and the needs changed, we responded by developing new programs and expanding existing programs to suit the diversity of our region. Our programs and community based matches include Traditional Community Based Mentoring program (Bigs Littles), In School Mentoring, Corporate Mentoring, Couple Matches, Friend for a Day, Youth Initiated Mentoring, Full Circle Mentoring program, Game On and Go Girls!

To date, Big Brothers Big Sisters has provided mentors to over 5,000 deserving children since we opened our doors. With the growing needs within our region, we have an increased demand for additional programming and mentoring for the many children and youth anxiously waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister. Our annual wine auction is key to our charity having the ability to expand our programming and give children and youth the mentoring they need to become successful and productive adults.

Your Support

Our goal is to meet the demand for our program by individuals and school to ensure that every child who needs a mentor has a mentor. The SMS Equipment Wine Auction allows us to continue to meet our goal each year and provides the opportunity to reach more children and youth anxiously awaiting their Big Brother or Big Sister. By becoming a sponsor of the 11th Annual SMS Equipment Wine Auction, your organization will be recognized as a key component of the success of the event and a pillar for helping us fulfill our role as mentors and stewards to youth in our region.
